2:19AM - on the doll department ...

Looks like I am getting Kohya! I know I should keep it to myself until confirmed, but I can't help myself. =) If I get him he will be my big doll purchase of 2005. But, I might get tempted by those Pocket Fairies ...

Some of you are talking about a Volks books? (LOL, I accidently typed "vook" at first) Did I miss something? I fall out of the loop so often!

1:12AM - Favorites and Rumors

The current sweetheart at Volks is - Anais! Move over Nono. Looks like Madoka is very popular too.

Latest rumor I heard is a standard boy is being developed for the new line. Whether he will have the new jointed waist is the question! I never liked how the original SD body arched back so much.

Current mood: ecstatic

8:19AM - Link, Midori, and Nagisa

This seller has them up on Yahoo Japan already!

Link looks better "in person." The Volks pictures of him are terrible! In the seller's pictures he looks like a surly F-28, don't you think? In Volks pictures he looks like the ugly younger brother of Isao!

Looks like the "kneeling legs" were exclusive to Yuni2. Probably they will show up in MSD FCS. I think both Midori and Nagisa are very cute!

Current mood: hopeful

8:19AM - Third Time's the Charm

Have any of you noticed that Volks has not released a limited edition type more than four times? Correct me if I'm wrong.

The closest is Lucas being released 3 times, and then being released as Sweet Dream Lucas. The only other dolls I know that have been released three times is Michael, Chris and maybe Licht (?). I'm not counting dolls that are already in the standard line, or one-off dolls. Some of the more popular dolls look well on their way of getting a third release, namely Anais and Yuni.

It looks bad for those of us who want one of them! I do feel that Volks will release them again eventually, but maybe it'll be a while yet. I hope they don't believe in "retiring" and "breaking molds" or any silly sort of things like that...

Still have not heard hide nor hair from Frank about Isao's hand replacement. I suppose I should just email and get it over with...

7:45PM - New Rumors

Alright, here is the latest gossip I have been told, but bear in mind none of this is 100% accurate:

The fourth Tokyo Series boy is rumored to have the new long legs and new sunlight skin.

There was supposed to be an amount of 50 - 100 exclusive sunlight version Isaos with a different wig besides the normal release, but production ran late and the idea was tossed altogether. The different wig became a special pre-order wig you can get when you buy Isao (The same wig, with a long tail instead of plaits).

Supposedly, Isao's sculpt production was running behind deadline, which is why he only has one exclusive hand. The other hand that was planned for Isao will either appear in the new FCS or for the fourth boy (Or both!).

The new "standard release" dolls will most likely consist of the new FCS heads.

Don't say goodbye completely to old favorites yet, Volks will be planning to "revisit" old standards as new exclusives in future events.

The old skin tones will not be available anymore, and it is uncertain if Volks will replace any parts that are in the older skin tones as they are discontinuing those color productions. Though this is probably not true, be on the safe side and treat your older dolls carefully! =)

5:51PM - Update

First off, thanks to everyone who replied to my last post! I emailed both Volks and Frank. Volks replied first, they apologized for what happened to Isao, and said they fowarded my mail to Frank. Frank emailed me this morning asking which hand was it that needed replacing. He did not tell me anything more, but it looks like his hand will be replaced! Apparently, I was not the only one with this broken finger problem! =(

I don't know how long it will take for his new hand to come. I'm hoping within the month, if Volks is not too busy. It really does look like pure-skin is more fragile, unfortunately. It is really beautiful though.

I am currently planning for the future (LOL) should something happen. I have several friends in Japan who I know will go to Volks for me in case Isao ever has an accident again, but Volks does charge a fee, correct? Does anyone know the current yen amount and is it the same whether it is a damaged head or just a broken finger?

4:38PM - =(

Yesterday I missed Isao because I had to take the girls to the eye specialist again. Today he finally came. As I was taking out his clothes and boots excitedly, I saw something that made my heart sink: a bit of broken finger was peeking through the pillows...

I am really upset! This is my first boy and SD13 and he arrives broken. I wished Doll&Hobby packed dolls like Masamichi, who is always very careful to bubble-wrap the hands, feet, and head. Did you know, his left hand is exactly the same as the "Standard" SD13 boys left hand! I thought both hands were supposed to be exclusive. His right hand of course, is the newly sculpted hand. It's very nice though missing a finger!

I don't know what is going to be done... I emailed Frank right now to tell him, but I don't know what he will say, or if he will help replace it. I was never given or asked if I wanted any insurance in shipping. They just charged my card. I am sure it will take a long time to be replaced as well =(

Has this happened to anyone before with D&H? Does anyone know? What would you do? I am so sad. I put Isao away his his box. He is much more beautiful in person, but I don't want to look at his hand right now.

1:26AM - Question about paint?

I am going to try repainting my dolls for fun before I choose someone to do their face-ups. I was at the Liquitex site and I don't know what paints I should be using: the medium viscosity acrylics in the little jars or the high viscosity acrylics in the tubes? Or can you use both? I hope these are not ignorant questions, if so you will please have to forgive me.

I think Isao will be here tomorrow! I cannot wait!

5:51PM - Joys

Isao will be here soon! Next week, I expect. I am already hearing many good things so I am happy for it. =) I have not gotten a new doll in a very long time.

We took a walk to Central park today. The girls are looking for the dog they saw through the window. He was walking around with no collar. I am sure someone must have called Animal Control already, but they were determined to look for him. We bought hot-dogs from the vendor, and they purposely asked for no mustard so they could give them to the dog! Finally when we were leaving we walked around looking for the vendor again. We did not find him or the dog, and the girls ate their cold hot-dogs plain.

Good exercise though! I think I am gaining and must make it routine to walk out every week.

11:16PM

I have been rather scarce from the doll online world lately! Every time I log on DoA I see a post that annoys me, and I just get put off. I will stick to LiveJournal instead. But I'm back just in time for the new Dolpa though, ha, ha, ha! Are any of you planning on bringing in a new addition home?

As for me, I have my eye on Isao! =) I wonder how much those boots of his will go for separately? I imagine a great deal. Is it so terrible to get a doll especially for his clothing? Like Chris and Lucas I can't imagine this doll having another name other than Isao.

Can anyone tell me what site do those cute avatar pictures are made? I think I want to make one!

2:40PM - It is cold today!

I've been feeling tired quite often lately! Aren't you supposed to feel exuberated with energy in the springtime? I want to curl up with a good book and some marmalade cookies from the Scottish bakery with one of the cats and go to sleep on the couch!

Lately I've been feeling so tired! I don't feel like doing much of anything. It must be the weather!

10:22PM - Tsukasa!

I missed the last Cecile and Shirou, but I don't want to make the same mistake with Tsukasa! I like him very much, and the new hands/knees only increase the want!

I'm just upset that I missed the Doll and Hobby preorders! I'm certain this is the boy I want! Doesn't Frank usually have a few SDs left over from preorders? Should I email him now about it, or wait? So worried!

I suppose if all else fails I can purchase him through Masamichi, but it will be more expensive. Oh well! I really would like Tsukasa to be my first SD13 boy! I think he will look marvelous with my Lucy (Aya).

9:09PM - Rumors

I asked my friend Sachiko about what body Tsukasa will be on, and she says it is the same as the pure skin Captain Cecil body. Looks like all LE SD13 boys will now have the new knees body, but it is unsure whether Syo will be released with them as well.

It seems as though Shirou's hands are exclusive to him only, but there is a belief that Tsukasa's hands are a modified version of the old SD13 boy hands. Hm! We shall wait and see!

3:45PM - Took a break from Super Dollfies!

When taking my youngest daughter upstairs, I tripped on one of the girls' toys and fell backwards down a flight of stairs. My daughter was all right, but I had broken my leg. I had lost my voice during the fall and couldn't call for help, but I'm so glad my daughter didn't because the neighbors came out running when they heard that racket!

I was very afraid something had happened to her, since she was crying so hard, but the doctors did X-rays and she's perfectly fine. It must have been the fall that scared her!

Though I wish my daughter hadn't been there when I fell, she actually eased my pain. I was so concerned for her well-being that I don't remember the pain at all, though I have a cast and enough bruises to prove I went through it.

But it's turned all right in the end! I got some wonderful emails and gifts, and my husband and mother took several weeks off to help with the girls and keep house.

I never said anything to the girls, but maybe my husband did, or maybe they felt guilty, because I notice that they put their toys away after they've finished playing. I didn't want them to feel guilty about it, so after I was able to hobble on crutches we went doll shopping.

Lesson learned: Don't let the girls play on the stairs!

2:10PM - Got a suprise in the mail!

I received a suprise package today, full of pretty SD clothes! I'm marveling at the sheer talent and love that was put into it, and Lucy couldn't be more happier! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

9:22PM - sigh.

I'm really considering buying a Mika or a Cecile, but I will need to wait for one to come up on Yahoo Japan. I hope neither show up, LOL! Though I'm very happy with my girls. Unfortunately, they're not so happy with me, they want more clothes! =) Spoiled girls, I always spoil girls. Maybe I should just get a Mika, as she is the same size as Nina, it will be easier to make clothes for both of them than have a boy to deal with. And from what I hear they cannot wear the same clothes or shoes as a standard, I mean basic things, like jeans and sweaters, not mary janes and skirts!
